Bend, Oregon
Therapy in Bend
A small downtown practice, plus secure video sessions for anyone in Central Oregon who would rather skip the drive.
A One-Person Practice Downtown
My office is at 1345 NW Wall Street, Suite 202, in downtown Bend. The practice is small by design. There is no intake coordinator, no rotating roster of associates, and no phone tree. When you write to this office, you are writing to me, and I am the person who writes back.
I have been doing this work for more than twenty-five years, and I hold licenses in both Oregon and California. What has stayed constant across all of it is the size: a handful of clients I know well, not a caseload I move through. More about my background and training.
What Brings People Here
Plenty of people in Bend arrived on purpose. They left a city, a job, or a life that had stopped fitting, and they came for the light and the trails and the pace. Sometimes that move delivers exactly what it promised. Sometimes it also brings a loneliness nobody warned them about: the friendships left behind, a partner who settled in faster, the quiet sense that you should feel better than you do in a place this beautiful.
Others have been here for decades and are dealing with something that has nothing to do with geography. A marriage that has gone quiet. Grief. A diagnosis. Anxiety that used to be manageable and is not anymore. Work that runs hot in summer and thin in winter, and a nervous system that never quite catches up with either.
On Privacy in a Town This Size
In Bend you run into people. At the grocery store, at your kid’s school, on the trail. If the thought of being seen walking into a therapist’s office has held you back, that concern is reasonable and I take it seriously. If we happen to cross paths in public, I will follow your lead and say nothing unless you speak first. Video sessions are always an option if that feels safer, and what goes in your record is something we can talk about openly before you decide anything.
What I Work With
The approaches behind that work include IFS, EMDR, mindfulness-based therapy, and attachment repair. See all of them here.
Coming from Outside Bend
Central Oregon is spread out, and a fifty-minute session can turn into a half-day once you count the highway. If you are coming from Redmond, Sisters, Sunriver, La Pine, Prineville, or Madras, you are welcome in the office, and you are equally welcome to meet by video instead. Some people mix the two, sitting down in person when the roads are clear and switching to video for the stretch between November and March. Neither format is the lesser version.

What to Expect
What Happens After You Reach Out
01
You reach out
Send a message or leave a voicemail, whichever feels easier. I personally respond within one business day, usually by email.
02
We talk, no obligation
A relaxed 15-minute phone call to see if we might be a good fit. Ask me anything. If I’m not the right person, I’ll do my best to point you toward someone who is.
03
Your first session
There’s nothing to prepare and nothing you have to talk about before you’re ready. The first session is simply about getting to know you, your story, and what you hope for.
