Couples Therapy

Finding Your Way Back to Each Other

Breaking painful cycles, rebuilding trust, and creating the connection you both want.

When Love Isn't the Problem

Most couples who come to therapy still love each other. What has broken down isn't the love. It's the pattern between you. One partner reaches, the other pulls away. One raises a concern, the other hears criticism. Over time, the same painful cycle plays out no matter what the argument is about, and both of you end up feeling alone in the same house.

Couples therapy is a place to slow that cycle down, understand what's actually happening underneath it, and build a different way of reaching each other.

Couples I Work With

Having the same argument again and again
Feeling more like roommates than partners
Growing silence, distance, or loneliness in the relationship
Rebuilding trust after it has been broken
Navigating parenthood, career change, retirement, and other big transitions
Differences in intimacy, connection, or emotional needs
Communication that turns critical or shuts down
Wanting clarity and connection before making big commitments

How I Work With Couples

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a well-researched approach grounded in attachment science. In EFT, the negative cycle is the problem, not your partner. My role is to help both of you feel genuinely seen and heard. Never triangulated, never blamed.

We work in three broad phases: de-escalating the cycle that keeps hijacking your conversations, helping each of you reach for the other in new ways, and consolidating the connection you've built so it lasts.

If Your Partner Isn't Sure About Therapy

It's very common for one partner to arrive more ready than the other. That's okay. One of you reaching out is enough to begin. The free consultation is a no-pressure way for both of you to ask questions and get a feel for how I work. Reluctant partners often relax once they experience that sessions aren't about deciding who's right. They're about understanding the cycle you're both caught in.
