Chronic Illness Counseling

Compassionate psychological support for the emotional, identity, and relational challenges of living with chronic illness.

The Emotional Weight of Chronic Illness

Living with a chronic illness is about so much more than managing physical symptoms. It can bring profound losses — of identity, capability, future plans, and relationships. The emotional toll is real and significant, yet it often goes unaddressed in medical settings.

You may find yourself grieving the person you were before your diagnosis. You might feel isolated because others don't fully understand what you're going through. You may struggle with anxiety about the future, depression, or the exhaustion of managing both physical and emotional pain.

How I Can Help

Processing grief and loss related to illness
Managing anxiety about health and the future
Adapting to new identity and limitations
Building resilience and coping strategies
Navigating relationships affected by illness
Addressing depression and hopelessness
Reducing stress that exacerbates symptoms
Finding meaning and quality of life

A Mind-Body Approach

My work emphasizes the mind-body connection, which is especially relevant when living with chronic illness. Approaches like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction have strong evidence for reducing symptoms, improving quality of life, and building emotional regulation in those with chronic conditions. I integrate these practices thoughtfully alongside talk therapy and somatic work.

Chronic illness counseling often includes Mindfulness-Based Therapy and anxiety support.

You Are More Than Your Diagnosis

Let's work together to find support, meaning, and quality of life alongside chronic illness.
