Therapeutic Approach

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Drawing on MBSR and Mindful Self-Compassion to build presence, ease, and lasting well-being.

Mindfulness in Therapy

As a trained Meditation Teacher, I bring a deep and grounded understanding of mindfulness into my clinical work. Mindfulness, the practice of intentional, non-judgmental awareness of the present moment, has a substantial evidence base in modern psychology.

When integrated into therapy, mindfulness practices help clients step out of automatic, reactive patterns and develop a greater capacity to observe their thoughts, emotions, and sensations with curiosity rather than reactivity. This creates space for genuine choice, healing, and growth.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Developed at UMass Medical School, MBSR is a clinically validated 8-week program that uses meditation, body scanning, and gentle movement to dramatically reduce stress, anxiety, and chronic pain. I draw from MBSR principles throughout our work together.

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC)

Developed by Kristin Neff and Chris Germer, MSC teaches us to treat ourselves with the same warmth we'd offer a dear friend. This approach is transformative for clients struggling with self-criticism, shame, and perfectionism.
